The eleventh house traditionally represents our relationships to those in the group or organisation. As a rule, if the Sun receives generally positive aspects (Sextile and Trine) then their relationships with groups should run relatively cooperatively; if they are challenging (square, opposition) then more disputes may occur and friendships broken off. Friends in the eleventh house are found in social gatherings, meeting places and Internet groups, usually relationships that are distanced. Best-friends, one-to-one to relationships are normally found in the seventh house.
Those with the Sun in the 11th house have a certain idealism, innovative approach and belief in people-power. Problems can arise when the individual over-identifies with a group. Usually though, these people need to create a group and lead others towards some kind of shared goal. From an individual point of view, the 11th house represents man’s urge to identify himself with the collective, to contribute part of himself to the needs and aspirations of the group as a whole.
Angelina Jolie has Sun in Gemini in the 11th house. Jolie promotes humanitarian causes, and is noted for her work with refugees as a goodwill ambassador. The actress has been on field missions around the world, and when asked what she wanted to accomplish, she stated, “Awareness of the plight of these people. I think they should be commended for what they have survived, not looked down upon.” Over time, she has become more involved in promoting humanitarian issues on a political level. Bill Clinton has Sun in Leo the 11th house, he has worked as an American Politician and was sworn into office as U.S President in 1993. Clinton describes his mother as a fun loving friend and his biggest fan. Clinton has been described as a New Democrat, since leaving office he has been involved in public speaking and humanitarian work.
