The Lot of Fortune

Pluto astrology of fortune

I have Venus in Capricorn in the 5th house square Pluto in the 2nd house in Libra. I have been observing how this aspect works in my life. I have read various authors views on the subject and Jeff Green’s interpretation hit a chord: "Venus demands that before we can successfully be involved in relationships of any kind, we must learn how to relate to ourselves, love ourselves, and to supply and answer our own needs in a self-reliant and self-sufficient way."

I personally feel blocked (Pluto) in this lifetime from a financial point of view. I feel loved and valued in my relationship, but I can’t seem to figure a way past this financial block. I know it has a lot to do with my own creative resources (Venus in 5th) and looking at my own talents, skills and use of resources.
Emotional, psychological, or physical abuse is not an uncommon experience for these individuals over many lifetimes. The memories of these experiences are held in the unconscious memory banks. Thus many will come into this lifetime with a natural suspicion of others. Karmically these individuals will draw, or be drawn to others with whom they have been involved with in a past life. All the potential problems and karmic situations can be instantly metamorphosed once these individuals learn to relate to themselves and identify and supply their own needs. Eliminate unrealistic expectations of the partner. Jeff Green
Astrologically, blockages relate to Pluto and Saturn can signify a type of blockage through resistance and limitation. I worry where this energy will channel through and the more frustrated I become its bound to create more pressure on the two natal planets. Pluto also rules the inability to let go, fixated complexes and manipulative patterns. I feel stagnated in this area of my chart and it feels like there is no growth happening at all.

Pluto signifies critical situations and ones that have amassed over time. And I have let the situation reach a critical mass. The problems intensify over time to the point where there are fewer choices now. I do believe Pluto involves cycles that we can get negatively stuck in for long periods. Pluto moves extremely slowly around the zodiac and takes over 248 years to complete a cycle. And I wonder when I will ever be free of such blockages in my natal chart or whether it is going to be a long process.

I can’t force growth and have my finances suddenly change and my debts all paid off overnight. However, it would be nice to see some change in my 2nd house. I will do more research over time regarding the affects of Pluto but rather than the stories of death, abuse, and trauma. I also want to hear about transformation and change in a positive way. You can’t ignore the latter as they are often the major catalysts to growth. However, stories of empowerment under Pluto transits and lives changing for the better are what I need to hear right now…

Pluto reminds me of the Wheel of Fortune, I understand astrologically that Pluto would relate to the death card and Jupiter to the wheel of fortune and these two planets aspecting natally can show great changes in fortune, either way. However, the wheel of fortune doesn’t mean things always turn out “beneficially” and the astrological wheel itself could be viewed in the same way.
The image of the wheel itself is a profound one, for the moving of the wheel is like the panorama of life which we encounter; but the hub remains still at the centre, a constant and unchanging essence. The hub is like the hidden self which ‘chooses’ (although it is no choice of the conscious ego) to turn itself toward various situations, events, paths and people. Fate does not come to meet us; rather, we turn to meet our fate. Thus the Wheel of Fortune is more than a significator of change. It is the herald of a profound inner journey through which the Fool, the image of ourselves, radically comes to terms with his own destiny. By Liz Greene
