I was never sure what to make of this relationship. Simon Monjack was called a con-man by the press and the couple denied the rumors surrounding them. Brittany had a fortune, and he was being sued for over $400,000. I saw an interview with a friend of Brittany's who refused to have anything to do with her while she was with this man. The couple faced quite a bit of scandal, and many found Simon a little strange. I really have no clue about how Brittany felt about him when they married in 2007. The couple got engaged in 2006, not long after she split with another partner. Transiting Neptune was square her natal Sun in Scorpio. Brittany was unduly vulnerable and sensitive at this time, her direction in life had become unclear. A feeling of profound disillusionment (Neptune). Energy can become depleted, and self-doubt and confusion sets in. Brittany/man (Sun) may be undergoing a lot of Neptunian problems, which could involve drugs, alcohol, illness and feeling at a loss with life. I would have checked his birth date to see if he had strong Neptunian influences, but he hasn't made it on Wikipedia.
Brittany died just before Christmas in 2009, after she collapsed in the bathroom. Transiting Neptune had moved away from her Sun in Scorpio, but was still in orb/passing. Neptune was in an applying square to natao Mercury in Scorpio and her death was listed as pneumonia, Mercury-Neptune in transit can bring on trouble with breathing and the lungs and it can contribute to feeling confused and dazed at this time.
