Multiple Personalty Disorder

Christine Sizemore is an American Schizophrenic who has been diagnosed with 22 personalities. The personalities had various names: the blind lady, the virgin, the banana split girl, and the mute. Through deep therapeutic work, eventually all of these personalities were integrated into one. The cause of the splitting was due to traumatic events in her childhood, which happened before she reached two years old. Christine's natal chart has an 'exact' Sun square Pluto aspect and tight Moon square Neptune. The Sun, Moon and Venus are in their dominion or exalted. The planet struggling is Mercury; the planet of communication, thinking and analytical ability is in fall in Pisces and receives a square from Mars in Gemini (malefic). Overall, Christine has a fiery temperament, and Mars is a singleton (only planet in air). Saturn in Sagittarius in the 4th house is a singleton (only planet in the lower hemisphere). The angular planets: Moon square Neptune. And Neptune is powerful in it's own house (12th). Uranus is at 0 degrees in Aries in the 8th house and can represent healing and transformation (8th) with sudden breakthroughs (Uranus in Aries).

I don't believe there is a sure fire signature for mental health, and you can't diagnose from the chart alone. However, there are are pointers in the natal chart that show the areas that an individual is challenged to overcome in each lifetime. The medical astrologers do have some good pointers and lets see how they examine mental illness and Schizophrenia in the natal chart: C.E.O Carter, An Encyclopedia of psychological Astrology - "22 degrees of the mutables and Mercury is related to Mars by aspect or sign position. Moon or Mercury, or both, are in all cases in aspect to Neptune." Comment: Christine has Mars at 22 degrees Gemini (mutable) Mercury is square Mars in Mercury's sign (Gemini). Moon is square Neptune, and is powerful on the angles. Bulls-eye in this case.  Doris Chase Doane, Astrology : 30 Years of Research - Severely afflicted Mercury or Moon, usually both. Comment: That was a big help, considering it' 30 years of research!!

Essentials of Medical Astrology by Harry F. Darling says, "Only one factor relating to autonomic brain imbalance affecting the cerebral cortex which is also in Gemini, that does not mean that asthma and Schizophrenia are related, but there is an analogical autonomic nervous system imbalance underlying both conditions as part of astrological findings. The analogy is noted also in treatment, since schizophrenia medications derive from antihistamines used to treat allergies." Comment: This is an interesting observation. Astrology in the Modern World - by Derek Parker: "In their most bizarre form, delusional systems are encountered in patients suffering from paranoid schizophrenia; they afford a further example of man's need for explanations. To suffer from schizophrenia is to undergo an experience of progressive personality disintegration of a most disagreeable kind, interrupted from time to time by crisis of personal identity during which the individual may feel that his sexual and aggressive impulses do not belong to him but are in fact intruders forced into his mind by the agents of a sinister conspiracy whose sole intention is to produce the unbearable state from which he is suffering. While Schizophrenic delusions represent on the part of the patient to render his circumstances explicable and to create some kind of order out of his own private chaos, astrology, I submit, represents a similar attempt at operating on a collective level."

Christine has Sun in Aries (individuality) in the 8th house of crisis and square to Pluto (8th house), this represents the crisis (8th) of personal identity (Sun in Aries) and trans-formative work she has had to go through for a "singular" personality (Aries). The Sun is struggling to shine in the 8th house of complexes, traumas, crisis and continual death-rebirth situations. Moon square Neptune is a highly sensitive placement and trauma at a young age can result in the need to retreat, and escape into a fantasy world. The Moon is the unconscious ego, and therefore confusion, delusion and the inability to see reality (Neptune) is sometimes a problematic pattern in life. Margot Kidder

Margot Kidder's most famous part is that of Lois Lane in Superman, and she did make a feisty reporter, she played the role well. I was surprised to read that she had a mental breakdown in 1996. I was curious to see her natal chart and transits for that period in her life. Margot was born under the sign of Libra and she is conscious of imbalance and has an innate sense of justice. Libra can be accused of continually adjusting their behavior to create a smooth and harmonious environment. In my earlier studies I used to have preconceptions about Libra being a "weak" sign, the Sun represents individuality and it falls in the sign of Libra. For a long time I thought that perhaps these natives were weak in personality and individuality.

However, I came across quite a few women with their Sun in Libra who are just the opposite of what I thought they would be like (according to old textbooks). A while back I looked at Sigourney Weaver's chart and in a lot of her roles she has played high powered women. In Working Girl she played the uncompromising Boss. In Alien she played a skinhead taking the lead role and pulled it off with style. Sigourney is a Libra, but has Mars conjunct Pluto in the leadership sign of Leo. This combination is far more self-expressive and aggressive with powerful urges to win. Margaret Thatcher was born under the sign of Libra. And funnily enough, she too has a Mars-Pluto contact in her chart. Libra is a masculine air sign and is an intellectual, some individual's born under the sign do seem to exude the sweet, light and charming aspects of Libra. Other women born under this sign express the masculine side of their personality with ease and grace. "It's a curious thing but many Librian men have an appreciation of the feminine side of life - beauty and culture, the arts, harmony, relationship. Not that they are effeminate. My brother's wife has Sun in Libra and she is exactly like this; on the one hand she is very concerned with her appearance and will buy every beauty product on the market. Mars in trouble

The only planet in any real difficulty in Margo's horoscope is natal Mars in Sagittarius. The Archer conjuncts Chiron and squares Saturn in Virgo. A challenging and accidental configuration, that may explain the serious accident that she was involved in. The accident put a halt to her career causing serious financial problems. Sagittarius is known for it's accidental qualities and in traditional terms this is a malefic contact. Regarding mental health problems the star was diagnosed as a manic depressive; this difficult combination could explain her lack of motivation and depressive episodes. For manic depressives I would look to fire signs or planets severely stressed by Saturn or Pluto.

Meltdown Moment: In April 1996, the whisky-voiced actress, who hit it big as Superman's sweetie Lois Lane, suffered a manic-depressive episode while in L.A. and spent several days living on the streets, sharing a cardboard box with a homeless guy named Charlie. By the time police found her hiding in a stranger's back yard, she was dirty, dazed, missing her front dental bridge, and had hacked off her hair to escape detection from CIA agents and one of her ex-husbands (she was experiencing a wee bit of paranoia).


Dysfunctional Dialogue: "Mental illness is the last taboo," the actress told Barbara Walters shortly after her episode, admitting she had suffered from depression for decades. "It's the one that scares everyone to death, and I have to include myself in that until the last few months."


The Aftermath: According to Kidder, she's been able to keep her illness in check without drugs, instead relying on a combination of amino acids, vitamins, and minerals. "For me, the solution was finally getting away from psychiatric drugs and actually healing my body so I wouldn't have the symptoms that are called mental illness,"

The Transits

The transits at the onset of her mental breakdown show Pluto in Sagittarius conjunct Mars. This sets off the Mars-Chiron-Saturn configuration. Pluto in it's morbid form represents paranoia and loss of control. A Mars-Pluto transit can show an episode of extreme violence, depression/powerful feelings of anger. Bottled up rage and the resultant depression erupted, and this brought the onslaught of a volcanic 'meltdown'.

Pluto seeks to unearth what we haven't sufficiently dealt with in the past, and takes us away from our civilised state. The planet often puts us into situations  were we need fight for our very survival. Pluto is the prime significator of anything that is about to 'blow' in the psyche. It symbolises a volcano erupting and releasing years of suppression. It could be compared to an act of purging, but it's not like a day at the spa! The Pluto experience allows us to let go of painful emotions. The process can be extremely cathartic, cleansing and releasing. Years of torment, shame, or secrets are released as the body/psyche clears itself. Hopefully, she has made progress since and has found some healing.

Brooke Greenberg: An Eternal Baby

I had seen this little girl on television today, and wondered about her astrological chart. She looks absoloutly adorable in this photo (heart melts). The Doctors are saying she may hold the key to delaying the ageing process. Although according to what I have read they haven't found any special gene. Here is the story on Wikipedia:

"Brooke Greenberg, (age 16) is a girl from Reisterstown, Maryland who has remained physically and cognitively similar to a toddler, despite her increasing age. Greenberg is about 30 inches (76 cm) tall, weighs about 16 pounds (7.3 kg), and has an estimated mental age of 9 months to 1 year. Greenberg's doctors have termed her condition Syndrome X.She was born with anterior hip dislocation, a condition which caused her legs to be swiveled upwards, awkwardly, toward her shoulders; this was corrected surgically. Otherwise, Greenberg appeared to be a normal infant.

In her first six years, Greenberg went through a series of unexplained medical emergencies from which she recovered. She had seven perforated stomach ulcers. She also suffered a seizure. This was followed by what was later diagnosed as a stroke; weeks later, no damage was detected. At age five, Greenberg had a mass in her brain that caused her to sleep for 14 days. The doctors diagnosed the mass as a brain tumor. However, Greenberg later awoke, and physicians found no tumor present. Greenberg's doctor states that the source of her sudden illness remains a mystery".

The Astrology

Brooke has her Sun in exact conjunction to Neptune in Capricorn, and this sign rules the bones, teeth, and delay in development etc. Lots of children are born with these same aspects/signs, and don't suffer this condition, so I am only judging the chart without a birthtime. Neptune rules compassion, suffering and confusion and would explain why her condition has baffled Doctors. She was diagnosed as having a brain tumour after sleeping for 14 days, and when she awoke there was no tumour present. The Mysteriousness of her whole illness could be Neptune at work here, and things are never as straightforward as they appear to be when this planet is involved. Individual's with  the Sun in aspect to Neptune in their chart can appear at times spaced out, or even asleep. They often appear as if they are living in their own secluded world. There is also a delicacy in appearance in some Sun-Neptune natives and they can be highly susceptible to illness.

The Sun is also in exact conjunction with Uranus, and she is the focus of much scientific study (Uranus) even if the Doctors and those in authority are confused over her condition (Neptune in Capricorn). Uranus is straight out of science fiction, and he has very lofty ideas for the future. Brooke Greenberg is the new muse of the Scientific world. The triple conjunction of Sun-Uranus-Neptune is a powerful feature of this girl's chart. Mercury the planet of communication is also in Capricorn in wide conjunction to her Sun-Uranus-Neptune configuration. Brooke Greenberg's mental development is that of a 1 year old. In a chart with a child with normal development we would say she is very imaginative and original. However, she would need some mental pursuits to express these higher aspirations. You can you apply all this to her life development, but it would be read in a very different manner.

Little Brooke has Venus unaspected in the sign of Pisces unaspected. This symbolizes that she has a deep need to feel loved and special. Venus in Pisces attracts lots of sympathy and she is a well loved little girl. She is treated as a very special human being in the world. Venus is exalted in the sign of the Pisces, and symbolizes at it's most abstract level, love and compassion for everyone. Mars the planet of motivation and action is in the sign of Cancer (fall) opposite the triple conjunction (Sun, Uranus, Neptune). Often Mars-Neptune is another aspect that can develop a poor immune system or weakened body. With Mars in hard aspect to Uranus this shows us that she has a rebellious personality,  and she aims to be individualistic. There is a lot of originality in her chart for reasons we know, and her nervous system is heightened. The opposition involves the parental signs of Cancer and Capricorn. These two signs show how we get our needs met, and our emotions and nurturung instincts (Cancer) and the polarity to these character traits is self-sufficieny, maturity and growing up etc (Capricorn). It is a profound opposition considering she is an adult in a baby's body. The aspect of Sun-Mars may represent that strong sense of self she has developed.

Pluto, the planet of transformation, change and evolution is placed in it's own sign at the apex of a t-square with Chiron and Saturn. This difficult fixed configuration shows much soul strength is needed here to be born into a life with such insurmountable obstacles (Chiron-Saturn) concerning her place as an individual in society and of being different (Saturn in Aqua- Chir in Leo). With Pluto driving the t-square she is headed for fast transformation this lifetime.

Chiron

Chiron was discovered by Charles T. Kowal on the 1st November 1977 at about 10.00am in Pasadena, California. Since it’s discovery astrologers have reclassified it several times from asteroid, comet and to planetoid. According to Sue Tompkins and Melanie Reinhart, “Astrologers and astronomers co-operated in the naming process of several of the centaurs and this was the first time in recorded history that the divide between astrology and astronomy had been bridged. This rapprochement reflects Centaur themes: the bridging together of the Scientific and the intuitive, the rational and inspirational, just as the half horse, half-human image of the Centaur brings together disparate opposites, and challenges us to integrate that which seems alien“.

The Greek story of Chiron is centered upon a Centaur who is half man, and half animal. He was born from an illicit union between Chronus (Saturn) and sea nymph Philyra. When Chiron was born, his mother was so disgusted by his appearance that she abandoned him. Sun God Apollo raised (music, art, and prophecy) the rejected Centaur. The wound of Chiron's perpetual suffering was accidentally inflicted by Hercules poisoned arrow. And because Chiron was immortal he was trapped in a terrible dilemma, he could not heal from his wound and lived out each day in agony. However, Chiron's fate was not sealed, and Zeus (Jupiter) agreed that Chiron could exchange places with Prometheus (Uranus). The rebellious God Prometheus had been chained to a rock, for stealing the God like power and giving it to mankind. Chiron took his place and chose death to end his suffering, and was honoured in the sky as the constellation of Sagittarius.

Chiron is linked to Saturn and Uranus and follows the same orbital plane as these planets. Chiron is a fairly recent discovery and represents some new form of consciousness to our current world affairs. Astrologically, Chiron can be extremely frustrating in interpretation. Firstly, there has been no agreed rulership (if there should be one). Secondly, many astrologers will not include Chiron in a reading and do not acknowledge that it has any effect on the birth chart. The orbit of Chiron is erratic, the asteroid will spend more time in some signs than in others. The most interesting motif to describe Chiron is a “wandering” comet that is “caught” in our solar system. Astrologers use the term “wounded-healer” when discussing Chiron. And much emphasis in interpretation is often centred upon the education, healing and wisdom aspect of Chiron, and the wound itself is rarely elaborated. The final dilemma of interpreting this comet is deciding "how" to interpret Chiron in the natal chart, as a straightforward interpretation is difficult to obtain.

The word Chronic is very similar to Chiron and suggests a condition that is long lasting. The formal interpretation for something described as Chronic is, "Long lasting and recurrent or characterised by long suffering" for example, "chronic indigestion"; "chronic shortage of funds"; "chronic invalid". Or even chronic unemployment which could be observed through Chiron in the 6th house. Therefore, Chiron in Taurus or in the 2nd house, which represents individual income, self-sufficiency and self-worth, may describe an individual in chronic debt, or suffers from recurrent low self-worth and insecurity. Chiron in the 1st house or in the 6th house of the natal chart may represent chronic illness, or an accident that has put some kind of limitation on the physical part of life. When we are in chronic pain we are stuck in a trapped situation with no way out. A unfair situation or ailment where there is no cure for our predicament. In this light, Chiron represents where we feel impotent and were we overcompensate and build defences. According to Myth, Chiron tried many new and different techniques,  healing methods and gained significant knowledge, trying to find the "cure" but he never did heal his own wound. Chiron may be become highly skilled in the area of his wound, and this may be another defence system that guards the primal wound.

According to The Cotemporary Astrologer’s Handbook by Sue Tompkins - “The American astrologer Kim Rogers Gallagher noted how similar the glyph for Chiron is to the symbol for wheelchair access. She points out that the wheelchair disability symbol was adopted 1968 when Chiron was at 0 degrees Aries, a potent point which often signifies the birth of something.” I have noticed that the Chiron symbol has relation to those people who are often on the “fringe of society” and another group that uses the Chiron symbol is a group for gay, bisexual and progressive men whose main objective is focused upon enhancing the quality of life by determining their rights as individuals in society, with the aim for enlightenment and justice. There are numerous of other healing groups which have adopted the Chiron symbol as their emblem representing the education and healing element of their work.

Chiron's symbol resembles a Skeleton key, and if we take a symbolic look at the meaning of a key it acts as the opener of doorways and gateways to other dimensions. The Romans used skeleton keys as the symbol of Janus the god of doorways. The Greeks use the symbol of keys to unlock the mystery of magic, and in the tarot cards; the Hierophant key is associated with the symbolic meaning of Chiron; the card symbolizes enlightenment. The Hierophant is shown as the awakened one, the fulfilled, and enlightened, and is the true spiritual master. We can even take Chiron symbology into the movies, a film was released titled, The Skeleton Key, eerily resembles Chirotic themes. The movie is about a hospice worker, and she takes a job at an isolated house to care for a severely disabled stroke victim who is expected to die soon. The lady of the house Violet gives her a skeleton key that can open every room. The house holds dark secrets that are slowly revealed in the movie.The end of the movie shows souls exchanging places and they become trapped in each others bodies.

Chiron is classified as a trapped comet in the solar system and can symbolise where we ourselves feel “trapped”. The Chiron symbol is a way of unlocking the spiritual answers that we need. The key correlates to unlocking the primal wound, and discovering what lies at the root of chronic wounding. This is not an easy task, and it is a similar challenge that we face when confronting Saturn. We have built defences and barriers to protect ourselves from further hurt and wounding. Unlocking the wound can lead an individual towards dedicating themselves to spiritual and healing practices. However, I don’t believe we are all “profound healers” in that sense. Yet, a sense of understanding other people in the same pain bridge the gap of isolation (Saturn) and learning objectively to have compassion towards humanity (Uranus) and this is a powerful healing tool. It can be difficult to access Chiron’s wounding, as it is often “hidden” (locked) in it's natal position.

Since the discovery of Chiron we are collectively recognising that there is a “primal wound” to all human beings. Healing takes place in the many self-help groups and recovery movements and usually some form of commitment is made to practical and spiritual healing. We seek to understand the primal wound and attempt to grow beyond our wound. The wound itself may be visible through a crippling illness or it may be a spiritual or mental wound. The Primal wound is a dark rage lurking below conscious awareness. The wounded-healer archetype has been difficult to embrace in astrology. Yet, suffering in the wounded sense is not about wholly identifying with the pain but to view it as part of human growth and development. The Centaur's name means “working with the hands” and through his own discomfort he helped to heal many others.

Chiron was released from his suffering into death and he entered Hades world in an act that signified transformation. To choose death is linked with Euthanasia. Animals too sick for treatment and in chronic pain are put down. Yet, human euthanasia and the "right" to die is a controversial issue. We humanly release an animal from it's suffering, but there is strong debate over human beings having the right to end their suffering by “choosing” assisted suicide. And of course the difficult choice on another's behalf when they are physically or mentally unable to do so. Euthanasia is the final option after every option has failed and there appears to be no miracle cure to alleviate the pain. It is a hard and painful choice for all involved. I read about a particularly sad case of a woman called Chantal Sebire, here are the details of her poignant story below, by Wikipedia:

Chantal Sébire (January 28, 1955 – March 19, 2008) was a retired French teacher who suffered from esthesioneuroblastoma, a rare form of cancer, and fought for the right to die through euthanasia. Sébire lived in Plombières-lès-Dijon, near Dijon, France, and was the mother of three children. In 2000, she was diagnosed with esthesioneuroblastoma, a rare form of cancer of which only 200 cases have been reported in the past 20 years. Sébire refused any treatment at the time of her diagnosis, not wishing to take the risk of the surgery or medications. With time, the cancer burrowed through her sinuses, nasal cavities, and eye socket, leaving her face severely disfigured. She also lost her senses of sight, taste, and smell and suffered severe pain that she refused to relieve with morphine due to its side effects, stating, "drugs are chemicals, chemicals are poison, and I won't make matters worse by poisoning myself."

Sébire first gained recognition in February 2008 when she made a public appeal to the French president, Nicolas Sarkozy, to allow her to die through euthanasia, stating that "One would not allow an animal to go through what I have endured.". On March 17, 2008, she lost her case in a French court, with the magistrate noting that while French law does allow for the removal of life-support equipment for terminally ill patients, it does not allow a doctor to take action to end a patient's life. After the decision, Sébire said "I now know how to get my hands on what I need, and if I don't get it in France, I will get it elsewhere". On March 19, 2008, she was found dead in her home. An autopsy conducted on March 21, 2008 concluded that she did not die of natural causes. Subsequent blood tests revealed a toxic concentration of the drug pentobarbital, a barbiturate that is not available in French pharmacies but is used elsewhere in the world for the purpose of physician assisted suicide. Sébire's death revived the debate over euthanasia in France and elsewhere around the world.

Chantal had Chiron in Aquarius at 0 degrees, and this is classified as a critical point in astrology. Chiron in Aquarius can often describe an individual with the persistent feeling of being an outsider, and it may be difficult to find a sense of belonging with peers. One recurring feeling with this placement is one of social prejudice (Aquarian type wound). The Sun in Aquarius conjuncts Chiron and there is a sense of wounding to her core identity and self-expression. Chiron is opposite her Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in Cancer and squares Neptune. I looked at her transits for the time of her suicide, and Chiron squared Saturn in Scorpio triggering a natal Mercury-Saturn-Pluto t-square.  A extremely difficulty condition and the emotional wounds and limitations were too much to bear and death (Scorpio) offered her a way out of her depressing misery. Chiron symbolizes all that is unfair in life, and these injustices fill us with a deep sense of rage. Some kind of inner death and letting go is involved in our healing.

We may need to understand our limitations and the reality that we are not in fact “immortal” and are humanly flawed. Chiron wounds show us that we can be wounded by life, and it may be unjust and fill our bodies with toxic resentment over this predicament. It must be said that healers who survive trauma themselves, can go onto to become the greatest healers of our time, they open the door to healing power and the knowledge underlying it, and they do so with compassion and understanding. Chiron is the path to transformation and the wounded-healer archetype is only achieved through greater levels of consciousness. The first process is opening the wound and recognizing the pain, and a willingness to accept the wound. Many people may enter the healing professions intent on healing other people’s wounds, but they may be ineffective healers because they are not open to their own wound, and this is step we all need to take. The Chiron Myth represents humanity and human limits. Chiron teaches us to have compassion for all even if we too have been hurt by life.

Dissociative States

Dissociative states occur when a person is under great stress from external influences, other people’s cruelty or deeply felt previous internal conflicts with a disturbing immediate situation. The moon (emotion) in Pisces (sensitivity) on the Dragon’s Tail (karma) is a major contribution to the dilemma. This affliction brings dissociation with others, especially to the family. The upbringing is usually very dramatic and the subject learns early in childhood to cope with traumatic sexual or emotional abuse. If the Dragon’s Tail (negative) affects the 4th house (home/family) in the sign of Scorpio (sex) or if there is any hard aspects to the Moon (home) and Pluto (death) drama will occur. Often they are forced to learn to disconnect from their feelings to avoid emotional or physical pain. By adulthood, their emotions are locked behind protective walls and can be accessed as needed. A strong Pluto (power) aspect to Mercury (the mind), and the Moon (emotions) gives the subject a powerful will to dissociate himself from whatever is going on around him so that emotional or physical pain can be avoided. The strength of Pluto, aspects to Mercury and the Moon give this person a form of subconscious (protection) self-hypnotic trance. In extreme cases, therefore, these individuals do experience periods of “missing time,” confusion and disorientation. Sad enough, “The Little Queen” Jon Benett, was murdered at home. The police suspect the parents for good reasons. She was a Leo (fame/stage) and at an early age displayed her gift as an entertainer. The 4th house (home/family members) happens to be in the dramatic sign of Scorpio (death/sex) and clearly indicates where death and drama did enter the life of the subject.

Jade Goody

Jade Goody has been on British television since she first appeared on Big Brother. The show which made her a public figure. Jade was ridiculed by the media because of her ignorance regarding general knowledge, she also cavorted naked in the big brother house, and was accused of backstabbing, bullying, and bad behavior. Jade used poor judgement in many respects. However, despite public ridicule, Jade managed to turn things around and became a T.V personality. Jade had her own television shows, perfumes and other advertising brands. The reality star quickly became one of the most successful big brother housemates accumulating a fortune. Jade’s popularity increased because of her infectious sense of humour, and humble ability to laugh at her own mistakes.

Later Jade was given the opportunity to return to “Celebrity Big Brother” and back to the house that made her a household name. Jade happily accepted the opportunity, but unfortunately she suffered a reversal of fortune. Jade was accused of being a racist bully to housemate Shilpa Shetty. The programme was inundated with complaints about racism claims. When Jade was evicted from the house all crowds were banned for safety reasons. During an interview following her eviction, she said she felt disgusted with herself, and her very publicised return to the house was branded as a very poor decision.

Jade suffered a tough childhood, her father was a drug addict and criminal, and he died of a drug overdose at aged 42. Jade’s mother has also been a drug user, and is a Lesbian. In 2004 a devastating blow was delivered to the young star when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and told she only had a few months left to live. Jade began to plan her own funeral, and was filmed in a running documentary (until her death). Jade was a mother of two beautiful young boys, and was trying to make as much money as she could for her children’s future and education, she wanted them to have the best possible opportunities in life, as it will be difficult for them growing up without a mother.

Jades Natal Chart:

The Sun in Gemini is opposed Neptune, and aptly describes her father’s drug addiction (Neptune rules addictions to substances as a replacement for true spiritual oneness), and the opposition to Neptune describes no solid role model in her life. Jade as an adult is unsure of her own identity (Neptune in hard aspect confuses the Sun's sense of self). Astrologically Neptune can occur in charts where illness robs the individual of their energy and vitality for life. Sun-Neptune can indicate a lost of direction in life, and loss of hope, she may need to find value through a spiritual purpose. Jade has poor boundaries (Neptune) around her sense of self (Sun), and she is left open to be victimised by the press. Jade's personal identity was swamped by the collective. Sun-Neptune falls across the Gemini-Sagittarius axis, and Jade during her life communicated and learned about different people from different backgrounds and cultures, challenging her to expand and find ”unity with the whole”. During her illness she gained a new spiritual “perspective” (Gemini-Sagittarius).

Sun in Gemini trines Pluto in Libra, and this suggests she has the capacity to renew herself, even when faced with crisis, an ease in self-transformation. Jade’s Mercury in cancer describes a sensitive perception to the environment, and she holds subconscious prejudices and fears. Mercury in Cancer feels thoughts, and she can’t always objectively detach. Mercury squares the conjunction of Jupiter-Saturn in Libra. This configuration has challenged her mentally. Jade will often blurt out her thoughts without fore-thought. Jade can be careless (Jupiter) in communicating and often says the wrong thing. The planet Jupiter broadens whatever planetary principle it contacts. Mercury-Jupiter describes how she is mentally being expanded. Jade is challenged to create a balanced (Libra) worldview in using her judgement. Libra is where we weigh up the effects and consequences of our thoughts/actions. The contrast of Jupiter/Saturn describes the ups and downs in her personal life. In one sense Jade has judged others, and has been harshly judged herself.

The aspect of Mercury-Saturn describes her personal insecurities around mental abilities, and Jupiter involved in the configuration tends to overdo in compensation for lack of confidence. The cancer planets in her natal chart describe her sensitivity to moods and feelings in her immediate environment, she feels protective over those dear to her. Venus in Cancer square Saturn can describe an emotionally tough time in younger years, she may feel she is unworthy of love, or has to earn other people's approval.

Mars in Gemini opposed Uranus adds a self-willed dimension to her character, an excitability that is difficult to contain. Angry outbursts are not uncommon with this aspect. Mars in Gemini can be verbally cutting, and when under stress, she can be a rebellious character who needs to make a statement. However, she illuminated collective issues and was a catalyst for change in the media (Gemini) by bringing death and taboo subjects into social awareness (Mars in Gemini -Uranus in Scorpio).

The Transits During her Illness and Death

Transiting Pluto opposed Mercury and Venus in Cancer. T. Pluto squared Jupiter and Saturn in Libra. Jade wanted to be married before she died, and it is extremely poignant exchanging vows with Pluto aspecting Venus. These are her wishes and she was making the most of the time she had left. Planning a wedding and a funeral at the same time is heartbreaking. Transiting Pluto - Saturn describes how she is forced to change. Something inside of her breaks down, and she can be resistant to the fate imposed upon her (Saturn and Pluto rule death). Jade, however, had passed this stage and was making constructive use (Saturn) of this difficult period, she made sure her children’s future was secure. Transiting Pluto aspecting Jupiter, and her future (Jupiter) has been destroyed (Pluto), feelings of hope for a better future can face total despair. Obviously with Libra aspects involved lots of legal documents where being drawn up at this time, for the children, her marriage, and will.

Jupiter, Chiron, Neptune: Another Dose

The general flavour of the conjunction has had me questioning its relation to current events. Here in the UK, we had a break-out of Swine Flu, and the biggest outbreak of measles in years. Astrologically, Chiron can be linked with physical problems of this magnitude. According to Liz Greene’s Barriers and boundaries:

"Chiron is often linked with physical problems, of both an organic and functional nature. Bitterness and disillusionment can express themselves somatically- perhaps in really lethal diseases like Cancer, but perhaps more frequently in a general lowering of resistance, leading to a predisposition of infections. Abscesses and boils, which are often linked with Pluto, may also reflect Chiron’s inability to throw off infection. This is a kind of somatised infection, a retaining of poison, and an inability to fight off the nasties, which enter the system from the outside, it is as though the body is saying, “What’s the point? Life is horrible anyway, so I just won’t bother to fight.” I have seen a number of examples of Chiron relationship with toxic conditions. Any of you who have ever gone through any dietary procedure to clear toxins will know that one of the immediate emotional effects is rage."

Forced to Disclose the Gender Pay Gap

A new equalities bill has been put into place recently, it will force those in power (Pluto in Capricorn) to disclose the gender pay gap in their organisation. The bill is to increase fairness and diversity and help Britain in the global economy. Age, race and gender discrimination will be under new equal laws. The new equalities bill is taking place under the current conjunction of Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune in Aquarius. Jupiter in Aquarius believes in equality, and Neptune in Aquarius has greater openness to the differences between people. However, with Chiron in Aquarius it describes the collective wound, and bitter, painful reality of social prejudice still existing no matter how many laws are passed.

The recent political scandal over government expenses is still dominating the news. MP's wasting Tax Payers money. Pluto in Capricorn reflects deep mistrust in the government.

Abuse and Negligence, Who's not doing their Job?

A high number of child abuse reports have surfaced since Pluto moved into Capricorn. Authorities and outdated systems are exposed. The abuse of Baby P highlighted the low standards of Social care. The Fritzl case followed and just recently a report is out on the systematic abuse in state institutions run by religious congregations. The department of education has failed to carry out inspections, and children have been abused for years. A clean sweep in all these areas is desperately needed so that better systems are put into place.
