Controversial rapper, Eminem, celebrates his birthday today. The star has sold over 80 million records worldwide and he has had 13 number one singles. His real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers and he is the only child to Deborah Mathers. Eminem’s father abandoned the family when he was 18 months old, and he was raised in poverty with his mother. According to Billboard Magazine he used his musical career as a way to escape his unhappy life. By 1999, he released his first major studio album, The Slim Shady LP. The album created some controversy surrounding its explicit lyrics. Astrologically, around the time of its release, transiting Saturn was opposing his natal Sun, and his focus was on achievement, life-goals and working hard. Transiting Uranus also trined Mars, signifying an energetic period filled with excitement and an experimental approach that worked well.
