I spent most of yesterday re-doing my computer. I will have to blame the Mercury Retrograde period and I don’t usually like to make a song and dance about it. I feel it gets enough press attention every time it retrogrades. However, yesterday I was re-doing, re-starting, re-storing everything on my computer. As most of you know we can re-evaluate, and re-do some things during this time. It’s also my partner’s birthday today and I am hoping his phone still arrives. I ordered a phone under the retrograde period. What can you do, I don’t think everything can be put off until later. I am not one to let the stars dominate over my life. On the positive side, I have re-organized my bookmarks into neat categories to suit the Mercury in Virgo period. Virgo likes to categorize and I have a file for each topic. I have also re-evaluated my whole life ;-p. I haven’t been that deep, but I try to see the positive in the event, at least my computer is still working, but I keep losing connection and have to re-set it all the time. I could re-evaluate my working habits, health, productivity and so forth, use the best of the Virgo period.
When the planet Mercury shifts orbit, we experience a few weeks of missed connections and communication breakdowns. Your package never arrives. You sign a contract that turns into a disaster. You may feel it's bad luck. It's Mercury Retrograde and it's happening to everyone, all at the same time. It explains how Mercury Retrograde is a gift to make your life more fulfilling. The golden secret of Mercury Retrograde is a time to review, revisit, re-examine, rethink and reboot. By Chrissie Blaze
I am starting work on my Sun-Moon combinations for the blog and I hope it isn’t bad timing. Hopefully I will have something out by today or tomorrow, unless I lose all my work and have to re-do it (hope not). The Sun and Moon in the chart are two of the most powerful factors in a chart reading, and although I am only writing Sun-Moon sign combinations, it’s a pretty good starting point into the chart reading. The signs are usually associated with temperament, the cornerstone of elemental astrology and how we tend to adapt to the environment like different species. The water types respond emotionally and the earth practically and so on. It is the first thing you should really assess before getting into the meat and bones of the chart. Sometimes we can’t help it and want to talk about the more dynamic factors, like aspects and planets in houses. I do think discussing the Sun and Moon by sign is a good starting point for any natal reading. It is “basic astrology” but “highly relevant” and some astrologers overlook these important factors or even dismiss them altogether.
To complete the whole set it will take a long time, maybe10 years ;-p. I tend to write randomly on subjects and never in sequence. Perhaps it’s my Mercury in Pisces or Uranus in 3rd house. I am working on the Sun in Scorpio and Moon in Taurus at the moment. My two celeb examples so far for that combination are Prince Charles and Demi Moore, both stubborn, passionate, private people. Demi is interesting considering that she starred in the movie Indecent Proposal. It is about a couple who go to Las Vegas to win money (Taurus) to buy real estate. However, they lose all their money and meet a billionaire (Scorpio other people’s money) who offers them a million dollars if he can spend one night with Demi Moore’s character. However, not long after she leaves, her husband is consumed with insecurity and jealousy (Taurus-Scorpio) and eventually it becomes less about money and more about the enduring bond of the marriage (Taurus-Scorpio). The dilemma of money and sex and if people can really be bought is the dominating theme of the film. I suspect there is a nice moral in there somewhere ;-p. I find it interesting the roles that movie stars play according to their natal chart. Sometimes they are wrongly cast, but in this instance, it was the right astrological match for the movie.
